Don urges traditional title holders to be a good cultural ambassadors

Epe(Lagos State), Dec. 4, 2023(NAN) Dr Oluwasegun Jimoh, an historian and a Lecturer , has urged the traditional title holders to be of a good conduct, and a good cultural ambassadors.

Jimoh gave the advise during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), in Epe, on Monday.

He said that in the olden days, outstanding community personality are crowned with a traditional title base on their sterling community impacts and success. 

"According to him, it is a reward system that encourage good behavior and generosity towards your community. 

"More deserving people should be giving traditional titles. It must not be a compensatory affairs., " he said.

According to him, those people who invested in the community, advocate for community development and are dedicated to community services should be considered for Chieftancy title. 

He urged all the traditional title holders to be a good role model, represent the community uprightly, respect culture and traditions and be a good ambassador of the community that bestowed on you a Chieftancy title.

Jimoh congratulated all the newly crowned traditional rulers in Epe Division and also extended his felicitation to all the chieftaincy title holders across the division.

He urged them to use their position and good office to develop the community and attract development into the ancient communities. (NAN). (www.nannews.ng).
