Lagostrend reports that Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Engr. Mojeed Alabi Balogun, 

In grievances and with a heavy heart, I am in deep shock over the death of my My Leader,  of Ikeja LGA late apex political leader, and first Executive Chairman of Ikeja LG, late Mayor Alani Okikioposu, as he attends one year rememberance of the deceased is an occurrence we never envisaged.

You are, a mentor and a Leader to many of us in Ikeja Politics. Your death in indeed a huge loss to Ikeja Progressive family.

Over the years, you have made your marks by contributing to political developments not only in Ikeja, but also at the National level. You will be greatly missed amongst us.

I pray the Almighty God grant her family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss. May God Almighty protect the Children and other members of the family she left behind.

Alongside with Ikeja LG Chairman is the Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor, Chief Tayo Akinmade Ayinde, Conf57 Lagos APC Chair of Chair, and Ikeja LGA APC Party Chairman, Alhaji Adekunle Dally Adeokun, Hon. Debi Olasoji, as well as other party leaders and stakeholders of APC Ikeja LGA

Late Mayor Alani Okikioposu died last year, 2022 after an illness. The deceased was one of the apex leaders of Ikeja LGA All Progressives Congress (APC).
